Make Firefox look like Internet Explorer 7 with Vista-aero

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to Windows Reference RSS feed Thanks for visiting!

This Firefox theme gives your favourite browser the look of Vista’s Aero interface. Installing Vista-aero takes two steps. Downloading the theme adds an unwanted .TXT extension. You must remove .TXT to leave it with the correct .JAR extension. Then you merely drag the file onto Firefox’s theme dialog. The theme will quickly install and prompt you to restart the browser.

After restart you’ll have to click Vista-aero’s Use Theme button in the Theme Add-on dialog. Then again restart Firefox. Fans of Vista’s Aero design will like the new buttons and toolbar background, which the author has faithfully recreated. Our testers liked the new buttons on the Tab bar that give one-click access to many functions. Except for the Home button, each new button opens a pull-down menu of controls. With a single click each, you can open the Find dialog, save a page, send a link, find page info, clear private data, and many other functions. There isn’t an option to remove the Tab bar buttons built into the program, but Firefox offers an extension that allows you to customize the theme.

Any user looking to recreate the look of Aero and IE7 will like this freeware add-on. The app delivers on everything promised, and throws in a few design bonuses.
