Fix for Internet Explorer could not install this search provider Error

IE is providing a new feature of adding search providers.To add a provider to the Internet Explorer 7 Instant Search box, click the provider’s link from here. You can set any of these as the default search provider by selecting the Make this my default search provider check box in the Add Search Provider dialog box that appears when you click the link.

Some times When you attempt to add a Search Provider, the following error message may appear

Internet Explorer could not install this search provider.

There was a problem with the search provider’s information.

Solution

Click Start, Run and type the following command and click on ok

regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\msxml3.dll

Now you should see similar to the following screen and click ok

Thank you sir. Can I ask, is this indicative of potentially other problems as well, due to unregistered system dlls?
