How to Convert OST to PST format for outlook

A lot of users nowadays face the necessity to convert all information from Microsoft Exchange (files with the .ost extension) into files of the Microsoft Outlook mail client (.pst files)
First you need to Download ost2pst.exe file from here and install this program
Once it opens you should see similar to the following screen here you need to select the .ost file to convert .pst format
Once this finished you are ready to import .pst file in outlook

I have just used this tool after a nearly catastrophic failure of Outlook, and it seems to have worked just fine. Compared to other tools that are doing the same thing for as much as $500 (!), this is a highly valuable tool. Thanks mightily for making this available.
I have received an: Internal error (code=0000000E)
Message and nothing happened to my OST file, except, that I had a backup of it with PST extenstion, which is still an unacceptable format to Outlook 2007. The OST file comes from an Outlook 2003 program

Does anyone know if this works with Outlook 2007? I’m trying to save/extract my data from an OST file where the exchange server has died including the backups
Same issues here as others, get the internal error (code=00000000E) and are left with a copy of the original .OST file with a .PST extension.
OST is 1.2GB, created by Outlook 2007…

The error code many people in this thread are receiving is because the mentioned software doesn’t work for Outlook 2003 and up. I have only been able to find expensive tools with trial versions for newer .ost file recovery.

My original .ost file (1,6Gb) comes from Outlook 2003 file copy.
At first I tried to replace the new one Outlook 2007 Data file, on Offline, with my .ost file and – with the same name as the new one Outlook Data file.
Unfortunately the answer was – this is not the .pst file.
After I used this (ost2pst.exe), appears the internal error (code=00000000E), but it made the backup file with .pst extenstion, as well.
Unfortunately this .pst file is not opening neither with Outlook 2003, nor Outlook 2007, too.
Report: This is not the .pst file.
Can anybody has the other ideas?

I’m trying to convert an Outlook 2003 .ost file to an Outlook 2007 .pst file – does anyone know how? Would really appreciate the help!
I tried to convert an outlook 2002 OST to PST using this tool. The PC the OST file was written on was runing Win/Office 2000. The PC I was performing the OST2PST conversion was running XP. Most of the folders converted but were empty when opened. The file itself retained its 28 MB size but the emails can’t be found.

Worked wonderfully, thank you! I was able to retrieve from my Exchange OST from 1999 hundreds of emails that I haven’t seen in…well, ten years! I’m very happy with this utility.
Yea, this is a fail for me too. get the same error message that everyone else was getting. using outlook 2007 ost file size is less then 100mb.
Shame cause this would have been a pretty good solution.

I got the same error but had a pst file outputed. For the heck of it I opened up the pst file in outlook and guess what …. all the data was there even though the program crashed while converting! thanks.

Tried to convert a 2007 OST file to a PST file. Got the same error as everybody else. WTF haven’t MS made a tool available for this… incredible bad.
As with everyone else, I get same Internal Error using Outlook 2007.
