gPodder is a simple, free opensource software (licensed under GPLv3) to download free audio and video content (“podcasts”) from the Internet and watch it on your computer or on the go on your mobile or iPod. gPodder can support feeds from RSS, Atom and Youtube. gPodder is available in Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and on Maemo-based devices and supports iPod, MP3 player and mobile phones (e.g. Nokia N800 and N810). The user interfaces supported on gPodder are GTK+, Maemo 4, Maemo 5 and CLI.


In order to use gPodder with your iPod, you need to Jailbreak it due to the restrictions set by Apple.

Download & Install gPodder

gPodder is supported on Windows Vista/XP/2000. Click here to download gPodder and simply unzip the files to a directory on the local disk and run gpodder executable. No installation is necessary.

When you launch for the first time, you are given the option to either choose from a sample list of Podcasts or to download from my.gpodder.org. Once you choose your option and select to add the feeds/podcasts, updates are checked and downloads any new episodes.

The default settings for the software can be changed from “Podcast – Preferences“. Also, manage your subscriptions from the Subcriptions menu.
