One of the long standing concerns of Google Chrome users is that there isn't an extension or even a built in function that can perform like “NoScript” for Firefox browser. It not only secures the browser but it also loads the page faster and saves a ton of bandwidth by blocking those contents like adverts, scripts etc by blocking the requests getting out to server.  This unfortunately is not possible in Google Chrome as the APIs do not allow it for performance reasons which means we may never get a “NoScript” for Google Chrome.

Starting Windows 7, the indexing service indexes the contents of the files while they are created or modified. This means features like Instant Search readily provides results for your searches by looking into its index of file contents.

However, if you don’t search your  disk quite often or have multiple disks where the disk or paritions where content is not searched often (for example, you just have your Windows install and program files on C: and the rest of data on drive D:) then you can turn off this content indexing feature to improve performance.

“Activities” is one of the new features of Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). Activities in Internet Explorer 8 are contextual services that provide quick access to external services from any webpage.

The external pages are the Service Providers from whom we can lookup for Information related to data in the current page.

Alternatively, we can send content or data from the current webpage to another application (say Windows Live).

I’ve used some third-party tools that was able to perform searches but this is more an enhanced version which covers different categories of contents and information and how we want to handle information than just a mere search.
