How to install a Loopback Adapter in Windows 7

The Microsoft Loopback adapter is a testing tool for a virtual network environment where network access is not available. You can bind network clients, protocols, and other network configuration items to the Loopback adapter, and you can install the network adapter driver or network adapter later while retaining the network configuration information. You can also install the Loopback adapter during the unattended installation process.

To installa  Microsoft Loopback adapter in WIndows 7

1. Click Start – Search for cmd, right-click cmd and select “Run as Administrator”
2. From the command prompt, run “hdwwiz.exe“. This should launch the “Add Hardware Wizard“. Click Next.

I’m never gonna get use to the “Run as Admin” thing.

You are too much….more than a darling.

I think that its the first time I follow a tutorial and everything goes perfect. Much obliged

Instead of searching for running cmd as administrator, just search for hdwwiz and run it as administrator. ;-)

Sorry, forgot to thank you for the tip! :D

thanks

Thanks a ton.

to run cmd as administrator in windows 7 start > just type “cmd” now instead of use Enter key, use Ctrl + Shift + Enter

you’re amazing! thank you.

Thanks a mil my friend!!! u ‘re a life saver!.

Guys,

Please, help me . It is not working for me. I have seen the Unidentified network(Public Network),

Perfectly simple! Thanks so much!

brilliant, thanks a lot
it really works fantastic

thanks ^_^

resolved the problem yaar!
it,s great………

Great tutorial.

Another method of accomplishing the same thing would be to launch Computer Properties and then click on Device Manager on the left pane. There are many ways to launch it but the best I like is to press “Win + Pause/Break” combination.

In the Device Manager, click on one of the existing Network Adapters and then click on “Action” on the menu bar and select “Add legacy hardware” Voila!

You get the same wizard again. Rest of the procedure is the same.

I mean, you can do the same task by multiple methods because in actuality all of those method invoke some executable or dll in the background (all of which cannot be remembered of course) :-)

Thanks.

thx thx !!!! thank you very mucjh =) :)
