Increase bandwidth limit in Windows 7 Home Premium

This tutorial will explain how to Increase bandwidth limit in Windows 7 Home Premium

1. Go to Start > Run… > type ‘regedit’ > OK

2. See if you find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Psched

3. If you find it, set NonBestEffortLimit to the value ’0′ if you want to set to 0.

The QoS Service have to be running.

You could also have a look here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Psched\Parameters\Adapters

You have to go through all your network adapters, though.

Wow, that’s the best you can do?

Neither of those places have a nonbestefforlimit. However I don’t know if I have QoS running. How do I start that?

I located the folder, per the instructions above, but there was no, NonBestEffortLimit, listed in the PSched folder, so I decided to add it manually and set it to “0″ THIS REALLY WORKS! Now all of the websites I go to load much, much, much faster! If you want to add it manually, locate the PSched folder and right mouse click in the box to the right, and select “DWORD(32-bit)Value” and type in NonBestEffortLimit and hit enter. Scroll over the new value and select, “Modify” and make sure the Hexidecimal and Decimal values are set to “0″

Nice work Priest, I had to create the folder. I run 64 bit windows so i used QWORD(64bit). Got about a 20% boost to net speed which I am happy with.

Glad I found this thread.
