To resolve the problem uncheck this option from Internet Explorer as follows:
1. Open Internet Explorer in your Windows 7 Beta and click Tools – Internet Options.
3. Click Connections then LAN Settings button.

4. Uncheck the option “Automatically detect settings” and click Apply & OK.
This should resolve the problem.

thank you
Thanks,
That saved me having to reinstall Windows 7 clean. I tried a repair install and got a corrupted installation media message. Because I do not believe my media was corrupted, I think it’s a serious bug that needs to be remedied by Microsoft ASAP.

THANK YOU Brendan. After searching for hours with no success, you saved me! My internet would go away a day before a party where I need the internet. Thanks for saving my party.
thanks dude, u rocks!!
i love u
unchecking the proxy worked for me too , strange thing is that my chrome browser had this problem too , and by fixing IE it worked again!
thanks a lot.
I uncheck the proxy option as well. Thanks so much for leading me there.
I have tried everything, unchecking auto detect as well as proxy and it still does not work
My advice for what its worth is that if you have a working version of IE whether IE8 or 9 or whatever
Don’t touch it
Leave it alone so that it can do updates
If you try to upgrade it, downgrade it or even use it for browsing it will probably break and then you can’t do any updates.
Use a different browser for everyday use and leave IE to do updates only
There are lots of browsers to choose from
If you are really keen on using IE then at least download another browser so that when IE stops working you can get some online help.
