With Windows 8 and there being a special upgrade price until end of January 2013, you might want to consider an upgrade. If you are running Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP then you can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro just $39.99 or £25 in the UK.

However, before parting with your hard earned money to buy an upgrade. Be sure to check if your PC or Laptop hardware supports Windows 8 operating system and the installed applications are supported on Windows 8 too. As with previous OS releases, Microsoft has released a Windows upgrade assistant to do the leg work for you.

Click here to download and run Windows Upgrade assistant. Windows upgrade assistant will check your hardware and installed applications and produce a report on hardware compatibility and any features not available due to hardware short comings. Also produces a list of applications compatible with Windows 8 and those not and may have issues post upgrade.
