when you try to edit the registry editor you may receive the following error

Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator

This is because of some spyware program not allowing you to edit the registry or because of group policy

Try one of the following solution

Solution 1

Download Hijakthis from here

Run a system scan only.

Locate the following entry

O7 – HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1

Check this entry and click Fix Checked

Logoff and log back in.

Solution 2

Start -> Run and enter %windir%\system32\gpedit.msc press ok

Navigate the following key

User Config\Admin Templates\System\Prevent Access To registry Editing Tools

Change to… Not Configured

Solution 3

Go to “Start >> Run” or press “Windows Key + R”.

Type this command exactly as given below (add this in single line)

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

  10. I have this virus on an OS2 service pack. My error is at HKEY/local machine/software classes/csld/then a really weird string FFFFFFFFFFFF (and numbers). When full scan hits that file the document count jumps from 149,000 – 340,000 and I get a false positive clean reading – also not picked up by registry scanning. Virus took over as administrator changed all permissions to “allow” both on PC Tools and Admin. Ours cam in on an active X flash file, and when I tried deleting the file – at the end a black hacker screen came up and a Asian Anime text “now you and me are at the same place”. That pretty much took all my functionality away. Can’t do window update (system freezes), anyone else have something similar – any fixes???

  11. I tried every solution that mentioned in forums but those are working for only just 1-Minute and again the same error message is coming.
    1.Registry Disabled
    2.Task Manager Disabled

  12. I’m running Win 7 and I’ve tried every method on this page, and more than 20 results on Google, and none of them worked. I tried the “Support” page for my antivirus and firewall package and I followed their advice. Download a free utility called SuperAntiSpyware. Like me, you might not have heard of it, but believe me – it works. The very first item on a full scan was listed as “Disabled Registry Editor” and when the scan had finished I allowed it to “fix” the faults found. End of problem. I have no connection whatsoever with SuperAntiSpyware, other than now being a very grateful user. By the way, as well as having no access to my Registry, I also had no access to System Restore. SuperAntiSpyware fixed that as well.
