		<description>Sorry, I should have also mentioned under Device Manager, I had expanded Sound, video and game controllers and had Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2 (installed on my Toshiba laptop) highlighted, then selected &gt; Action &gt; Scan for hardware changes, when the sound came back.</description>

		<description>After trying every possible fix/uninstall/scan and still no sound after Vista SP1 installation I randomly tried Control Panel &gt; Hardware and Sound &gt;  Device Manager &gt; Action(on top toolbar) &gt; Scan for hardware changes and the sound just started working??!! As I said completely random but somehow it worked, hope this helps someone!</description>

		<description>I also had no sound on my old xp computer after installing Vista, and had no luck with the above.  I went to the Sony site ( i have a Sony computer)and entered my model number, Sony had drivers for my sound card.  I downloaded and installed the drivers, at first the computer said the drivers were for xp and nothing changed, then vista said it could try to make them work, it did it&#039;s thing, rebooted and now i have sound again.  Hope this helps someone.</description>
