If your Windows Vista computer has encountered the “BOOTMGR is missing” error, you aren’t alone. If the problem isn’t hardware related you can fix it with relative ease as long as you have a Windows Vista DVD handy.
- Get your Vista installation DVD and pop it into your drive now restart your computer.
- Select your computer to boot from DVD or CD in your BIOS.
Now Vista will ask you for language and keyboard layout information, after which you will be asked if you want to re-install Vista or repair your existing installation.
Select Start Repair this should start repair process
