You guys effin rock. That was the quickest, easiest solution to a STOP error that I’ve ever come across. I thought it was going to be too good to be true. The folder in C:\Windows\System 32\config didn’t exist, but running the disable command did it for me Thanks

WORKED LIKE A CHAMP. THE FILE COULDN’T BE FOUND BUT CHANGING THE REGISTRY IS ALL I HAD TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THANKS MATE!!!

I installed XP SP3 last night, and woke up to a blue screen this morning. I have a Dell, not sure if it is an AMD proc or not. But my comp won’t start in normal or safe mode, it just returns to a blue screen every time. Any Ideas if this could be caused by the same thing, and how I could fix it?

Thank you for this fix. M$ didn’t mention intelppm or Intel on their 0000007e site. I would never had known.
Tip: first I had to use Registry Editor PE for BartPE to change AutoReboot in registry to disabled. Then I could see the blue screen. Used Recovery console to type “disable intelppm” as instructed.

Just wondering if applying the registry hack prior to installing SP3 on amd hp desktop should eliminate problem altogether

Thanks, Worked for me. My intelppm.sys file was in “C:\Windows\Drivers” folder. The registry entry will show the location.
