If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to Windows Reference RSS feed Thanks for visiting!
After installing XP and it does not give me the option to select from either one of these two options. When you try, You may receive the error: “Client Services for NetWare has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching”.
To restore these features you must uninstall Client Services for NetWare.
Try one of the following solution
Solution 1
Open control panal and Open Network Connections
Right click on LAN and select Properties
Then where it says connection uses the following click on’Client Services for Netware’
Then press uninstall
If you don’t see Client Services for Netware option try this
Follow the above procedure to get to the network properties (of the network you are using currently). If you can’t see any netware entries do the following:
1. Highlight your network, and click install button.
2. Make sure “Client” is highlighted, and click add.
3. Highlight “Client Service for Netware”, click OK
4. Allow your PC to restart.
Now follow the first method instructions again, and ‘hopefully’ CSNW should be there for you to uninstall.
Solution 2
Go to Start>Run> type Regedit click OK.
Now navigate to the following key from left pane
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
and delete GinaDLL key from right pane

Hello,
All the solutions given don’t work on my computer!!
i cannot see the word LAN anywhere and the 2nd solution i can get to Winlogon but then theres no GinaDLL there…i don’t get it…
how can i uninstall Client Services for NetWare if it doesn’t work?!?!?!
Thanks for the post, it really worked 100% perfectly for me and am now able to configure my system to the desired choice…
Deep thanx 2 u, it worked with me successfully with me
You are truly the only one that took the time to put the instructions about not seeing the option and having to install it to remove the problem. Many thanks.
Why do i need CSNW. I work in an office and there are multiple printers we can use. all are networked in. I am trying to set up multiple users on the one computer for security purposes. Do I nees this horrible program? Is there any other program that allows me to have multiple users?
Deepest of thanks!
It’s obviously possible for p.c’s to get in this half stuck state of stating CSNW has been set, but where it does not show up on the properties list.
Your very full explanation of how to sort this out (option 1)worked perfectly.
Cheers
TP
Worked like a charm, thanks
None of the solutions work on my computer. this is getting stupid, it wasn’t on when i bought the computer but now it is. in the 1st solution i have uninstalled Client Services for Netware and have let the computre shut down, howerver it is still coming up with the message: ‘client services for netware has disabled the welcome screen and fast user switching’ blah blah blah
what do i do now??
Finally I get rid of Client Services for netware
It was not showing so first I install it and then uninstall it.
Thanks
