When You run Windows Security Center you might receive the following error

“The Security Center is currently unavailable because the “Security Center” service has not started or was stopped. Please close this window, restart the computer (or start the “Security Center” service), and then open the Security Center again.”

If you want to fix this follow these steps

To start the “Security Center” service, Click Start, Run and type services.msc

Double-click “Security Center” service from the listing

Set the startup type of the service to “Automatic”.Start the service by clicking the “Start” button in that applet.

I had the same problem (security center service stopped/disabled) after having a bad trojan loader virus on another computer within my network and assume that it was the virus that caused this to happen. I assume it is a virus/trojan that caused this for me because on the VERY infected computer within my network all of my antivirus, antivirus updates, ms updates, and virtually any virus removal tools or antivirus software I tried to use would not work. This is why I say that you probably had a bad virus that caused your security center service to be disabled. If you haven’t already I would suggest running a trend micro housecall, run an antivirus scan with a good, updated antivirus program, and also run malwarebytes antimalware scan as well ( running other antivirus/antimalware scans would be wise as well) as I have seen many antivirus/antimalware/internet security softwares that do not catch a lot of viruses, especially if your computer is already infected.

Good Luck! Surf safely, use STRONG passwords, and change PW’s often, and don’t save passwords, credit card info, or any other personal information on your computer or on websites especially!
