Rename Recycle Bin in Vista/XP

Recycle Bin is the place that all your deleted files and folders goes after you delete them from the original purpose.

If you want to rename your recycle bin use one of the following procedure

For Vista Users

right click the recycle bin and select “rename”

Type a new name for the recycle bin ie:Rubbish

In previous versions of windows this was impossible without editing the registry however in windows vista it’s a snap.

For Xp Users

Method1

Using Rename Recycle Bin Tool

This file will change the Icons and names of the Recycle Bin, my computer, and Network Neighborhood for you. It will even restore the defaults when you want. FREEWARE. Note you should delete the file ShellIconCache after making the changes. This file will rebuild itself after rebooting. FREEWARE

Method2

Please Note :Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system.

Click Start menu > Run > and type regedit

Go to the key on your left pane “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}” and you need to double click on “Default” Key

Change the name “Recycle Bin” to whatever you want (I have changed to Trash)
